Not a Replacement, but a Help: A Control System for Automatic Slab Delivery From Furnaces

The project of automatic slab delivery was implemented as part of the production management of slabs for the continuous strip hot rolling mill "2000" in the sheet rolling workshop at the Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine. The model monitors the presence of slabs during delivery from the furnaces, monitors the presence of workpieces on the roller after the furnaces by cameras and sends signals to the operator to prohibit the delivery of slabs in order to avoid collisions and accidents.

The software works from a corporate network for a technology network that is isolated from the first one. Communication with the machine takes place using a controller.
